Laser Tracking Service

What is a Laser Tracker?

A Laser Tracker is an extremely accurate, and versatile machine that can measure, align, level, inspect, document, and test parts, equipment, machines, and facilities.

A laser tracker is a portable inspection device known as Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) that measures geometric (and non-geometric) shapes that can relate to one another in a variety of applications. The spatial accuracy is typically up to 6 then thousandths of an inch, but with the right environment, tooling, and practices, accuracies of up to .0002 inches or 5.08 Micrometers have been achieved. The average human hair width is 80,000 to 100,000 nanometers wide.

Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is critical in today’s competitive economy. If components are not manufactured to specification or are produced and not inspected by an appropriate QA/QC procedure, the result can be catastrophic. Axis Metrology Group can perform general inspections, highly accurate- large machine alignments, and hundreds of GD&T comparisons in a single shoot. If your company is looking for a simple level to earth measurement or a complicated multipoint inspection- we are the right Group for you with FARO laser tracking services.
